Anita Haraughty

Anita Villegas Haraughty passed away on August 20, 2025. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who embodied the best of qualities: graciousness, unconditional love and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Anita found joy in the extensive travel she and her husband, Bill, and their family experienced over the years which she captured enthusiastically in her many journals. Over the years, they lived in the Philippines, Maryland, Hawaii, Japan, Louisiana, California, Alaska and Italy and she would often reminisce about those adventures. She was a voracious reader and instilled and encouraged the love of reading in her children. She was also a prolific gardener, and many would stop by to admire her beautiful yard.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren: daughter Kathleen and son-in-law Michael Moylan; son Kevin and daughter-in-law Denise and granddaughters Adele and Miranda and husband Alston; daughter Kelly and son-in-law Chris Francovich and granddaughter Marina; and son William. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Billy Lee Haraughty; daughter Colleen Haraughty Todd and grandson Michael Friedel.
