Deborah Todd Georgatos
Oct. 11, 1951-Oct. 16, 2025
Peoria, Arizona
Deborah (Debbie) Todd Georgatos, 74, of Peoria, AZ, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025.
Debbie was born on October 11, 1951, in Salinas, CA to Bud (Benson) and Louise Todd. She was the youngest of their three children. Debbie met the love of her life, Dean at San Jose State University in the fall of 1972 and they got married on August 10, 1974. They later graduated from San Jose State University in May of 1975. Prior to having their three children, they had many adventures; in the summer of 1977 traveling by train and backpacking through over a dozen European countries for six weeks (guided by the book: “Europe on Ten Dollars a Day” / but trying to spend even less), prior to Dean accepting a job with Ernst and Ernst in Athens in 1977. They returned to the states the following year upon learning their oldest son, Jason, was going to be born. Debbie and Dean enjoyed traveling, making many trips to Greece and Australia to visit family as well as explore history, culture and cuisine. Before her more recent decline in health, Dean and Debbie were blessed to be able to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary in Greece last summer, with a memorable Greek island cruise and a lovely stay on Kefalonia, the Greek island Dean was born on.
Debbie was proud of her rich American heritage, having family members that could be traced back to the Mayflower and Prerevolutionary America. However, she fully embraced Dean’s Greek heritage. With no pressure whatsoever from him, in Dean’s opinion anyway, she enthusiastically became Hellenized, along with the kids. She was particularly proud of having learned to speak a decent amount of Greek, but early on claimed she could understand almost everything being said, for obvious reasons.
Debbie spent many years raising, caring, transporting, guiding, encouraging, and protecting, but most of all, genuinely loving on her three children, who she considered were precious gifts from God, until she earned her Masters in Counseling from Bethany University in 1992. She spent time after that working in addiction counseling and later as a teacher. After many years living in Almaden Valley (San Jose), Dean and Debbie moved back to Pleasanton where Dean had grown up. Their oldest son Jason was attending UC Santa Barbara at the time, and their daughter Nikki would soon be headed off to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Their youngest son, Peter, spent most of his childhood in Pleasanton before graduating from San Diego State University.
Debbie was lovingly committed and deeply devoted to her Christian faith. She tried to live out her faith by her tireless commitment to her family and by putting her faith into action helping others by using her counseling skills and passion for members of the senior community. She also was fiercely dedicated to helping take care of her elderly parents in their final years. After her parents passed away, she felt a special calling to help make quality care available for senior citizens, eventually launching her own Senior Helpers business. After some time helping serve the caregiving needs of the senior community, Debbie decided to focus her final years on spending time with and doting on her ten grandchildren, who she dearly loved and was so enormously proud of.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Kostandinos (“Dean”) Jerry Georgatos; their three children, Jason Georgatos (Theodora) of Sydney, Australia; Nikki Dauphin (Stephen) of Sandia Park, New Mexico; and Peter Georgatos (Noelia) of San Clemente, CA; and ten grandchildren: Isaac Dauphin (20), Caleb Dauphin (18), Joshua Dauphin (17), Christos Georgatos (15), Elliana Dauphin (15), Sophia Georgatos (13), Nathan Dauphin (13), Timothy Dauphin (9), Kehlani Georgatos (7), and Kamden Georgatos (4). She is also survived by her siblings, William Todd of San Jose, CA, and Susan Todd of Salinas, CA.
Debbie would want to be remembered primarily of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and for her loving devotion to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She will also be remembered as a devoted loving wife and mother to her three children.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Graham-Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton, CA. A reception with finger food, refreshments and fellowship will follow. Debbie will be laid to rest that afternoon at Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
