Frances Irene Cassell, 86, of Campbell, Ca., passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 5, 1937 in Leavenworth Kansas, Frances was a beacon of kindness, strength, and positivity throughout her life.

Frances married William J. Cassell in college, moved to the Bay Area to teach and Bill to attend Stanford Grad school. They eventually resided in Los Altos and raised their 3 daughters there. They had a wonderful marriage and a very happy life together.

Frances dedicated her career to teaching public school in Cupertino and Los Altos, where she was known for her unwavering commitment and passion. She touched the lives of many, always lending a helping hand or a listening ear. Her warmth and generosity were felt by all who knew her.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Frances was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She cherished her family above all, often organizing gatherings that brought everyone together. Her love for the outdoors and traveling made for many fun filled family trips.

Frances had a passion for the outdoors in particular hiking, which brought her much joy and fulfillment. She was an avid traveler and her adventurous spirit inspired those around her to embrace life’s opportunities.

Frances is survived by her beloved children, Nancy Cassell, Diane Whisenhunt, and Gail Boddy, her grandchildren, Courtney, Kyle, Sara, Sean and Jack and great grandchildren William and Carter, and many dear friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, William John Cassell who she deeply loved.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday November 16th at 2:00 PM at the Lynnewood United Methodist Church 4444 Black Ave. Pleasanton, Ca, where family and friends can share their memories and honor her legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat For Humanity in her memory.

Frances Irene Cassell will be remembered for her infectious smile, unwavering love, and the countless lives she touched. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
