In Loving Memory of Julie Chandler
The family of Julie Chandler is deeply saddened to announce her passing on July 5, 2026.
Julie was born on April 1, 1971 in Alameda, and lived a life filled with joy, friendship, and community. She was a dedicated participant in Special Olympics from the age of seven, where she found opportunities to compete, grow, and build lifelong friendships. Julie had a warm, social spirit and loved spending time with others. She especially enjoyed participating in R.A.D.D. activities and attending her day program at Keystone Learning Center.
For the past 23 years, Julie lived in her own home in Pleasanton, surrounded by a caring team of support staff and many dear friends who became like family. She brought happiness to those around her with her smile, her enthusiasm, and her genuine love for people.
Julie is lovingly remembered by her parents, Ted and Geneva Chandler; her brother, Greg Chandler (Mai Leigh); her nieces, Emma and Addison; her nephew, Jackson; as well as her many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, caregivers, and all whose lives she touched.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the many medical professionals, caregivers, and support staff who provided Julie with compassionate care throughout her life. Your kindness, dedication, and friendship meant more than words can express.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Keystone Learning Center or East Bay Innovations, two organizations that enriched Julie's life and provided her with opportunities, friendships, and exceptional care.
Julie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
