Tanya Lisa Ludden, nee Getschmann, of Bremerton, Washington, passed away while surrounded by family, at the age of 66, after her four-year battle against cancer, which she faced with strength, grace, bravery, and an unparalleled level of optimism.

Tanya is survived by her husband of 47-years, Thomas Ludden, her daughter Lisa (Ron), her son John (Nicole), her son Michael (Sean), her sister Dr. Rebecca Padua-Getschmann, her step-father Richard Binder, and her step-mother Teri Getschmann.

She is predeceased by her mother, Jean Binder, her father Bernhardt Getschmann, her mother-in-law Marilyn Ludden, her father-in-law John Ludden, her aunt Patricia Neild, her aunt Karen Segal, her brother-in-law Robert Ludden, her brother-in-law Steve Ludden, as well as many dogs who instantly knew that Tanya was their pack alpha, ready to lead them to a life lived with love and luxury. She leaves her grandchildren, Jewel Ludden, Loewen Perry, and Nina Perry, whose kind hearted natures are a tribute to Tanya’s gentle and caring self.

During her 31-years in Alameda County, Tanya volunteered her time and fundraised for various organizations. Her work stemmed from the belief that communities who band together are the best way to strengthen the future. Tanya had a knack for connecting with people from all walks of life. She loved and lived for human connection, spreading kindness and enlisting volunteers for her next charitable journey. This brought her immense joy. Tanya had a passion for animals, gardening, live music, and her family & friends, who she would do anything for.

For many, there will be a hole in their hearts from the unending pain of her passing, however, if we embrace one another as she did, we can fill those holes while honoring the exceptional person she was. Tanya, you are missed and forever loved! You will live rent free in our hearts and minds! Thank you for gracing us with your beautiful, authentic self; we are all better because of you.

Tanya believed in the inherent goodness of people and imbued that same spirit into her philanthropic work. In lieu of flowers, Tanya’s family asks that you honor her with a donation of your time or other resources that give back to your community.
