Norma Sylvia (Shearer) Leone, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, cousin, and faithful servant of God, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Norma was born in Rhode Island to Douglas and Margaret Shearer. When Norma was young she settled in Methuen, MA. Norma loved being around her friends, dancing, and frolicking at Salisbury Beach.
In 1958, Norma met the love of her life, Frank, on a blind date and knew he was the one for her after noticing his shiny black shoes. They married in 1960, moved to Haverhill, MA, and began expanding their family with three daughters: Pamela, Susan, and Debra.
In August 1971, Frank's job transferred the family to Pleasanton, CA. He and Norma continued raising their family and working for another 21 years before retiring to Lake Wildwood, Penn Valley, CA in 1992. Norma and Frank had the best time traveling and entertaining their many friends and family. As time went by, grandchildren were born. Norma enjoyed building cherished memories with all seven grandchildren.
Norma enjoyed shopping and volunteering her time for many causes. She shared her wisdom, unwavering faith, love for God, and abundant love with everyone who knew her well. Friends were considered family. Norma was a classic in all the good ways. Anyone who met her would never forget her sincerity, honesty, and good heart. She left a piece of her soul with everyone who loved her. Norma will always remain the heart of our family.
Norma is preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank, mother Martha, father Douglas, and brother Bill. Norma is survived by her dear sister Betty; three daughters: Pamela (John), Susan (Dan), and Debra (Todd); seven grandchildren: Lauren (Brett), Meghan (Ricky), Ryan (Kayla), Olivia, Madalyn, Benjamin, and Macie; and three great-grandchildren: Elias, Theodore, and Tessa Mae along with many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.
